Conveniently located in Downtown Salisbury, Maryland, Hearne & Bailey, P.A. is one of the Eastern Shore’s oldest law firms. Throughout the years Hearne & Bailey, P.A. has developed a storied reputation of employing some of the region’s most respected and experienced attorneys, including four Wicomico County State’s Attorneys and one Wicomico County Circuit Court Judge.

Hearne & Bailey traces its beginning to Mr. Levin Claude. Bailey who commenced his law practice in 1914, prior to serving in the U.S. military during World War I. In 1944, Mr. Bailey was appointed Chief Judge of the First Judicial Circuit to fill the vacancy of Judge Benjamin A. Johnson, whose term expired in December of 1944. Ernest C. Clark, who joined the firm earlier, continued the firm with the addition of Charles E. Hearne, Jr. in 1945, and James P. Bailey, son of Judge Bailey, in 1950.

Nearly a century after it’s inception, Hearne & Bailey’s commitment to the highest level of professionalism follows the tradition established by Mr. Levin Bailey. The firm maintains a general practice throughout the State of Maryland, including active practices in Dorchester, Somerset, Talbot, Wicomico, and Worcester Counties.
